Carlyle Group – The Carlyle Group Replaces Hyperion and Invests in the Future with OneStream’s Modern SmartCPM Solution.
The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset management firm, was looking to simplify their EPM landscape by combining three tools into a single platform. Additionally, they were seeking a modernized platform that was scalable to meet current and future business needs. The Carlyle team evaluated several alternatives and selected OneStream based on its ability to unify and replace their existing financial and HR planning systems, as well as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for financial consolidation and reporting, and other point solutions such as account reconciliations in the future. Victaulic – OneStream XF Improving the Monthly Close End-to End at Victaulic
What Were Their Challenges?
The trigger for this project was the need to replace their outdated Hyperion Enterprise system, which was going off support, and was no longer meeting their requirements. Key requirements included improving data quality, simplifying the monthly close process, and gaining more consistent and accessible reporting for Finance and operations managers.
Financial reporting and planning data was fragmented in several different systems. Their chart of accounts in Hyperion Enterprise had ballooned out of control to support intercompany eliminations and alternate currency reporting. Printpack Replaces Hyperion, Eliminates Risk and Reduces Costs with OneStream XF Cloud
Printpack had been using Oracle Hyperion Planning and Essbase for budgeting and management reporting and was handling financial consolidation and reporting via Excel spreadsheets. The design of these systems carried risks and points of failure with data having to be moved between systems. In addition, there were multiple points of maintenance for meta data.
The impact of this was the risk of producing inaccurate data and spending too much time on system administration. In addition, it took the Finance team too long to produce monthly financial statements, and it was difficult to accommodate change requests from management.
